'THE PROCCESS'
Infrared equipment is used to heat the repair area and a small overlap extension into good asphalt adjacent to the repair. The heated area is 'boxed' and scarified down approx 0.025-0.04m just inside the limits of the heated area. Rejuvinator is added, followed by a top up of hot asphalt if required and compaction. The job is now done and within an hour can be fully re-opened to traffic.
Modern infrared technollogies prevent "cooking" of existing asphalt, during the heating stage, while a rejuvinator material is added to augment lost oils/minerals. Much, if not all, existing material is re-used in tandum with the addition of reclaimed hot asphalt to 'top up' the repair area.
The results are a very good repair with a sealed joint (no need to rout & seal after).
